A Notary Public is a specially-qualified lawyer who can act in legal transactions associated with overseas jurisdictions. There are only a few hundred in the whole of England and Wales, and Thatcher & Hallam is the only firm in the area able to provide such services. Areas in which a Notary may be involved include buying or selling overseas property, marriages abroad or managing the overseas estate of a deceased person. In the business world, they may be involved in commercial transactions involving import and export, cross-border disputes and the international protection of patents, copyrights and trademarks.
