Notaries are governed by additional professional rules and regulations to ensure that their work is recognised overseas, and so seeing a Notary Public is a little more complicated than merely having a document witnessed or countersigned.

Each case will be different, but there is some preparation that you can do in advance that will help speed up and smooth your transaction:

• Please contact us as soon as you know you need to see a Notary
• Ensure that you have evidence of your identity (in practice, a current, valid passport and
  a bank statement or utility bill)
• Please send us all relevant papers or documents in advance of your appointment if possible
