If your document is straightforward, the Notary will probably need to see you
for between thirty minutes and one hour. Complex matters will take longer, particularly
if the Notary needs to draw up the document from scratch.
Many countries want documents to be countersigned by their London embassies (a
process known as ‘legalisation’). This can take several days, unless
you choose to go to the embassy yourself. Fees and procedures vary widely, but
the Notary will be able to give you a reasonably accurate idea of the time and
